ARGIL SCULPTING IN VR
My role as a Unity VR Developer
While at Valkyrie Industries, I have worked on their VR sculpting app Argil. Initially released on steam for steam VR, Argil is on its way to be released on the Quest 2 as a standalone sculpting app.
My role:
I took ownership of the aesthetic revamp of Argil as well as porting it to be a native standalone Quest 2 app.
For this project I was using Unity and programming in C#, as well as creating VR game ready 3D assets in Blender and textures in Photoshop. I have reworked the lighting system and created an aesthetically pleasing and cosy environment for the user to sculpt in.
I have also created intuitive, accessible and performant UI and UX element such as menu items, VFX and animations that complimented the new visual direction.
This project has also taught me a lot about version control as the team was using Unity's Plastic SCM for version control purposes. Quality assurance and debugging, as well as performance analysis were also a daily task I had to perform.
