ENDEAVOURS OF C'THULHU

2D Endless Side-scrolling Platformer

In this project I had to design an endless side-scroller game that will get harder as the player progresses. It involved randomly generating environment and combination of assets to make sure variety and challenge is constant.

My Role

Gameplay and Level Design (Unity)

  • Designing level segments and environmental puzzles

Programming (C#)

  • Player controls 

  • Implementing physics interactions

  • Random platform generation

  • Hazard wave system

3D Art and Animation (Autodesk Maya, Unity)

  • Even though it is a 2D game, almost all assets (except player sprite) are actually 3D models which I have made.

  • Pre-animating chandelier wobble and starting house awakening (see video)

Visual Effects (Unity)

  • Particle effects to represent player state changes

  • Environmental hazard indicators

Texture Art (Adobe Photoshop)

  • Creating player sprites

  • Textures for 3D environment (house, platforms, hazards)

  • UI elements and screens
